Imperial Treasury

Imperial Treasury

The Imperial Treasury consists of gold and silver holdings in the form of Stomarian staters.

All gold and silver holdings take the form of stater bars and stater coins, featuring Stomaria and the member states of the Empire. The bars are currently supplied by goldbulliondealers.co.uk and are then hand stamped in Stomaria whereas the coins are currently minted through Coins For Anything.

The name "stater" is derived from the stater coins used in ancient Lydia 2,500 years ago. These are widely considered to be the very first coins and, consequently, sound money in human history and so it's very fitting that the name stater is adopted by Stomaria as we work towards reviving the use of sound money as opposed to fiat currency.

There will be two versions of the stater with 1g of 999.9 fine gold or 999 fine silver equating to one stater. Unlike many previous monetary systems based on the utilisation of gold and silver, however, the ratio between gold and silver staters won't be fixed and market forces will dictate their value independently from one another with their value being based exclusively on the spot price of gold and silver respectively.

Staters are circulated across Stomaria and the Empire through their utilisation as a medium of exchange.
